For a small region we pack a lot in an and of course we've got miles of stunning coastline too, which means the range of water sports and activities are amazing.
For family activities there is walking and cycling and there are also karting tracks in Almancil, Portimão and Olhão.
World class golf
The Algarve is also dotted with world class golf courses, the most famous being the Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course, also known as "The Penina" at the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort; it was the first resort course to be built in Portugal!
The fantastic all-year-round weather also makes the Algarve a great place for other outdoor activities such as tennis, horse riding, hiking and running and with so many wonderful things to see, sightseeing is always on the "must-do" list!
For the more daring, there are extreme sports like sky diving, coasteering (where you swim, jump and climb), quad biking and mountain biking and virtually every water sport that you can think of.
Watersports are in abundance including boat fishing, snorkelling, waterskiing, windsurfing, parascending and jet-skiing. There are also plenty of beach-side activities on offer such as volleyball, rugby and cricket.
